I worked with Sally for many years at GSK. She was part of a formidable team of women that worked in the IT Department. I always thought that large groups of women working together could be a nightmare but these ladies were, and still are, bright, intelligent, funny, formidable and bloody good at their jobs. Sally was one of the first in the team as it was set up. It was her belief in me with great support that led me down a new path at GSK and all of my subsequent jobs were because of her initial belief in me. I learnt so much from these ladies and Sally. She was always a great example of a strong woman. Great at her job in an almost exclusively male environment. But she was funny and warm (well not always when the air con was too high - I remember her working in August in coat, hat, gloves and scarf!!!). She was also slightly naive in some things which always made me smile. I have always been amazed by the things she has achieved and done. A life lived full indeed.

Bridget and I have spent about 3 hours on an M25 car park trying to get to you today Sally and have had to abandon our trip because we would not have been able to get to you on time. I am so sorry we could not be there for you and Paul today. But we will all be thinking of you. I still can't believe you have gone but you were a star in life and will continue to be so.
