Yes... that's right... the start of the Tax year! It has always been the standing joke that we only got married for tax purposes... you decide ;)

We had both been married before and so this time round we wanted a small, quiet wedding in a hotel. We were married at Burnham Beeches Hotel, Bucks.

We had just 6 people there... Sal and me of course, my sister Lyn and her husband Ian and Sal's sister Ann and her husband Dennis.

It was a lovely ceremony but not as quiet as we thought it might be as one of the teams taking part in the League Cup final were staying in the Hotel (Leicester City I believe) as the match was that weekend.

The squad must have got wind that there was a wedding on and so one of them interrupted the ceremony pretending they didn't know we were there.

In the 19 intervening years you could count the number of arguments we have had on one had. Incredible. A testament to her patience and understand... not so much to mine.
